The no-profit supporting Malaika Children Home, the shelter in Tanzania, where children in need find a safe place.

About us

Malaika Children's friends is a no-profit organization based in Milan, Italy. The mission is supporting the shelter Malaika Children Home in Arusha, Tanzania, with the help of donors in Europe, USA, Australia. The shelter welcomes orphans and abandoned children in need, who are driven to Malaika by the Ministry of Social Welfare. After a period for recovering, If possible the kids are given back to the families of origin, who are often found out hrough an 'outreach program' and are incentivized to foster the children. Some already grown-up kids instead live at Malaika and attend high-quality school, in order to become independent adults and find their place in society.

Updates

  • It is with great satisfaction that we inform our supporters that the Malaika logo is featured on the jerseys of the 2010 Rookies team of Academy Calcio Porto Rotondo, Sardinia: the sponsorship is a gift from our supporter Giovanni Nicoletti with his wife Letizia, whom we thank very much. Thanks also to Daniele Viti, who kindly oversaw making the T-shirts. Good luck for the next championship to the team's kids, that makes Malaika known! It would be great to organize a match with our Malaika boys and girls…

  • Malaika has been invited on June 15th to a beautiful evening by Lions Club Legnano Castello Le Robinie. The occasion was the handover from outgoing president Adriano Ziglio to new president Francesca Trani. Francesco and Giulia could tell about Malaika to Lions members, who have supported the shelter for years. In 2023 Lions Club Legnano funded studies for a girl who has finished high school and wants to pursue a graduate course to become a secretary. Our heartfelt thanks to the Club and Veniero Gambaro (in the photo with President Francesca Trani), who has supported Malaika's cause in the last few years.

  • We are excited to share that we have officially presented Malaika’s annual report for 2022. We held an exclusive event in Milan dedicated to our major donors to thank them for their invaluable support and share the extraordinary results we have achieved together. During the event, we outlined the activities, impacts and challenges faced during the past year. It was an exciting time to reflect on our successes and strengthen our commitment to the future. Malaika’s mission is to ensure that orphaned and abandoned children in Tanzania have a safe and loving environment, nutritious food, medical care and access to a quality education in order to build a better future for themselves and their communities. We thank all of our donors for their generosity, for their trust in Malaika and we are grateful for their continued dedication and collaboration. Malaika’s Annual Report 2022 provides a detailed view of activities, achievements and testimonies of beneficiaries. It is a valuable document demonstrating how your donations have a tangible impact and how our programs have value. The English version of the 2022 annual report will be available soon on our website, in the meanwhile you can download the Italian version: https://lnkd.in/dCeqaYCC Thank you again to everyone who made the event possible and to all who continue to believe in Malaika's mission. Together, we can make the world a better place for everyone! #Malaika #AnnualReport #Transparency #Supporters #Thankyou #malaikachildrensfriends #sustainability #NGO
